I tried to fire up Producer the other day and found that the Beta had expired.
The official release is now available and works with PowerPoint 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010.

Thanks for the VLC media player tip and the excellent instructions skyzthelimit
I used YouTube Downloader to get the flv file.
Then VLC worked perfectly for me in transcoding the FLV file to WMV. What a great free program.

G'day Callan and welcome to the forum
You've dredged up a very old post.
VLC is VERY slow to transcode in this manner.
There are other faster tools available these days.
Personally I use Any Video Converter Freeware

Just downloaded Any Video Converter and installed it again - Works for me on Win XP.
Did you opt to skip the registry booster? That's some recent addition packaged with AVC Free which might be causing you trouble. I skipped it.
I suggest you uninstall the registry booster.

I had the same issue with a new Windows 8.1 computer.
Windows movie maker 2012 can use the mp4 files ok but the lack of a timeline was a pain.
Windows movie Maker 6.0 complained about the codec.
In the end I installed Haali Media Splitter and the MP4 files from my camera import and play ok.

I finally got around to convincing my IT support to install PIP Plus (you may recall I don't have admin access).
I start MM and get your PIP Plus welcome.
I click for the trial, I immediately got told I've got 0 days left.
Do I need to have admin access to run PIP Plus or just to install it?

Yes the XP installer looks really dodgy to me.
Suspiciously large, obvious typos in the dialog boxes.
Nick can you just post a zip file.

Those with an X are the demo ones from Pixelan. If you like them you can buy them from Pixelan and the X disappears.
The free transitions without X are named starting with "Tranjelly".

1. Can you get the demo SpiceFX transitions or effects to work at all or is it just my 240 transitions?
2. Can you make transitions with Wizards especially the TranJelly Wizard and get them to show up in WMM?
3. Did you download the XP version of my transitions and not the Vista version by mistake?

Well it seems there's something wrong with the Pixelan installation.
I'm not sure what we can do if even Pixelan support can't figure it out.
1. Did you have a look at the install.log file in C:\Program Files\Pixelan\SpiceFX\UnInstall ?
I guess Pixlean support probably asked you for a copy of it.
Perhaps you could compare it with a good installation?
2. Have you tried installing it again?

Actually I did have a few which were PIP - the ones called IrisesPIP.
I like what you've done with the demo videos at the FX archive. Did you automate this or actually make them all by hand?
So does your new contribution mean I lose my lead?

Glad you got it to work Gail.
I didn't uninstall the Pixelan demo either.
However to avoid having the demo transitions cluttering my transitions and effects, I created a subfolder "Pixelan archive" under AddOnTFX and moved all the Pixlean dll and xml files there.

In the Pixelan SpiceFX 4.0, 5.0 or 6 package there's a free Tranjelly LE wizard for creating bevelled transitions.
The wizard allows you to choose from 48 different shapes.
I noticed that there were many more shapes (.SPG files) not available from the Wizard
and I was curious as to what they look like.
Presumably Pixelan's SpiceMaster PRO allows access to ...

I asked Michael from Pixelan about the SPG files. Here's his answer:
The SPG files are resolution-independent code that creates the geometry of an effect or transition in the Wizards. They are much superior to bitmapped gradients, since they render clean at any output size yet also contain the softness/organicness that our effect geometries have been known for for years in other ...

I don't know about the Pixelan XML format - I just used the TranJelly LE Wizard and then modified the file names in the XML.
Presumably if you use the wizard to change parameters and study the changes in the XML, you could work out some of the XML details. You could also just try changing some of the numbers to see what effect they have. I'm guessing that the parameters available in the PRO wizard might still be available in the free demo if you ...

Sorry fayfen, I don't understand which PNGs you are referring to.
The transitions in this thread are not PNGs, they use Pixelan's proprietary format SPG files.
The icons for the transitions are still in TranJelly02.dll

On my system they are in
There's an OverlayFX Wizard which can be used to construct an effect which uses those PNGs (or any other graphic). Using the OverlayFX Wizard > Add Overlay - that's how I found out where the PNGs were.
Note that with the demo version you can't save the effect created with the wizard to use in Movie ...

I just confirmed on Windows 7 WMM6.0 (using Patrick's Vista installation) that the 240 Tranjelly transitions still work also work exactly the same with the Pixelan SpiceFX 6 demo. As before you can uninstall the demo and just keep the TranJelly effects.
There are another 26 shapes (dated 2010) in Pixelan\SpiceFX\Wizards\System\SM\Spices\Spices\ShapesAFX but these appear duplicate of others. Presumably like IrisesAFX these have modifications for AccentFX.
Nice to see ...
