Two of the most common reasons for MM2 hangs/crashes/lockups/audio issues, especially when they occur during project editing, can be worked around by lowering the computer's hardware acceleration setting and taking steps to preclude clashing with codecs used by other software.

those are great transitions. but they're useless to me without removing the metacreations logo. does anyone else know how to remove them?
rehan, if one were wanting to remove the logo would you be able to explain the process? not that i'm going to remove them from the metacrations trans. i'm just curious of the steps needed to achieve this. |

Can anyone give me some suggestions for recording off my Xbox 360? I tried pointing my video cam at the TV but the quality is horrible. I want to make a Halo movie and need some footage.

Enable remote desktop or terminal services to the host computer.
If you have a TV tuner in your PC at home or a Media Center, I suggest you use Orb. www.orb.com. Orb is a free program that streams live or recorded content to you from your home PC. It'll also allow you to play your music etc.. |

I've never used one, but I've read others who have had good results with Canopus products.

You must have misread since under Home Premium they mention Creating HD Movies and such. They just didn't hyperlink the Movie Maker title like on the Ultimate and you'll need Movie Maker for that. I'm not sure about the other versions but it would be nice to have a list of what version contain what features. |

Head to www.papajohn.org and under saving movies, click custom .WMV profiles. These profiles are used within Windows Movie Maker to create higher quality file. I think they can also be used in Media Encoder.
Also I noticed that you are using 15fps which is great for saving bandwidth but terrible for quality.

One detail I noticed is that during 24 they do a lot of split screens where one half fills 90% of the screen aligned to the top and the other video half fills about 80% of the other half and aligned to the bottom. The rest is just black borders.
Not sure if it's doable, but I know you like challenges. =)

Has anyone played with the .wmdb files on their computer? It's located under, C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player\CurrentDatabase_346.wmdb. - You'll need to have show system files enabled to see it under folder options.
I would like to write a program that can read the Windows Media Library files so I can use them in a simple project. The only problem is I cannot understand how to read that .WMDB file. |

I followed the instructions and set it up on my local pc and changed the value in the webconfig to point to my shared music folder, but all I get is this error.
Server Application Unavailable

Has anyone else gotten this to work? |

What I believe he was saying is that the decoder youre using isn't the best for Windows Apps and that he recommends trying the NVidia PureVideo DVD decoder. They have a free 30 day trial http://www.nvidia.com/object/dvd_decoder.html, so it won't hurt to give it a go.
Install the deocder and then with the Decoder check up utility set Nvidia as the default and try again. |
