Has anybody had any sucess at all installing these? Please dont forget to provide feedback when things actually work!

I have re-packaged the files yet in another different manner. I am very hopeful this time it should work. Please re-download and try again. Remember to remove old stuff first to avoid mixing up.

Hi MMK

Welcome back. Thanks for your attempt to help. Its much appreciated. However I would have to ask you to remove the download and link. Kindly send any solutions to me rather than posting directly. The installer you have made does not solve any of the reported issues and places the files in completely wrong folder by default. This will only complicate the problems for the users.

Blaine. The original package had the debug build DLL in it. I was having problems compiling the release build. Wrote to MS; they replied quickly saying the "SP1" of VS2005 is not compatible with the MM sdk library files. So I was able to produce a release build on my XP machine where I have not applied SP1 yet. Dont know if you had similar experience.?

I am already placing the main DLL and fx files in the app folder (C:\Program Files\RehanFX\ShaderTFX) so that is not the issue. My research suggests that the issue is related to dependency on other system DLLs.

I wrote to someone on video memories team about the release build issue and was told to either revert back or wait till the new VS update comes along.

About the non-registration of DLL issue I do not have enough information to ask a specific question so haven't asked.

(May be we should take this discussion offline).

Hi MMK. Dont worry. Lets ask a mod to help us edit your post. If a mod reads this post kindly remove the link posted in earlier post from MMK.

What you packaged is defenitely not all. For one thing just see the size. The size of my package is more than 2Mb so how come yours is so small. You have missed out many files.

The main issue ppl are having is registering the DLL. How does your package attempt to resolve this?

I have updated my package yet again. Its a zip now with a setup.exe and an msi (windows installer) file inside. The size has grown to 4Mb+ as it now conains some dependent DLLs too.

I agree with Blaine. These instructions by MMK are way too complicated.

I think I have made further progress in making the installation package workable. So far I have eliminated all but a couple more possible failures. I am expecting the installer to work very soon.

Those of you who have been trying these packages, I appreciate your diligence and thank you for providing all the feedback. Kindly try a new package once again: ShaderTFX build 30/07/2007 12:00am and ...

Blaine, if he is having problem with yours then mine are no different. However I have strong suspicion if his problems are anything to do with the previous installation issues we have been discussing here.

Aar/Josh What is the problem you are having. It is rather frustrating to read vague reports of problems: "It doesnt work". "I am having problems". Try to read your messages from our point of view. What would you have made out of these statement?

Kindly include enough useful details in your problem report so that something can be done to help you.

Are you using Vista? Which version. Which version of Movie Maker are you using? (6.0 or 2.x). ...

StarGuy does your system have any unusual setup? What happens when you run on a gradient transition? Does it show a fade or completely blacks out?

I think you need to uninstall the old version manually (from Control Panel->Add remove apps). After uninstalling it make sure that there is no file left in the C:\Program Files\RehanFX\ShaderTFX.

Then install the new version and try again.

Swami. how are you determining that Chroma transitions are not working? Have you actually tried it with a blue screen clip or are just observing that nothing changes in the preview when you double click on the transition? The preview is misleading in this regard. You need to try it with some real clips. For example try the blue screen clips posted on this site: http://www.tzi.de/tzikeyer/index.html.

I am interested to know what else should be included in the final package. Split screens can be made without much effort with XML alone by using the SMPTEWipe transition and specifying specific time. I would encourage yourself to get your hands dirty and start experimenting with xml.

Hi Patrick

I will defenitely be including the pip+ effects capability. For example you can already do the following:

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="2.8" >
<Effects>
<EffectDLL guid="ShaderTFX.ShaderEffect">
<Effect name="PIP+ PhotoAlbum Window And Frame" iconid="0" guid="PIP+ PhotoAlbum Window And Frame" ...
