When you say you installed it to the AddOnTFX folder what do you mean?
You need to download the msi file and run it. It installs at the correct location itself.
(YOU NEED TO HAVE ADMIN PRIVILEGES).

I think I have made further progress in making the installation package workable. So far I have eliminated all but a couple more possible failures. I am expecting the installer to work very soon.

Those of you who have been trying these packages, I appreciate your diligence and thank you for providing all the feedback. Kindly try a new package once again: ShaderTFX build 30/07/2007 12:00am and ...

Hi mario...
This usually means that the DirectX is not installed properly. Please install it first and then re-install ShaderTFX by following steps:
1. Download the installer and save it in a folder.
2. Right click on it and select "Run As Administrator"
3. Complete the installation steps.

I hope this solves your problem.

Not on it. But once shadertfx is installed you can add many other further addons including split screen

I have not managed to fix the installer for 64 bit vista machines. I think the installer copies the xml and icon's dll files into wrong folder. Please contact me for details.

Yes of course it works on 32 bit vista machine. It would actually work on 64 bit machine as well, the problem is only with the installer which does not place the files in the correct place on 64 bit machine.

Yes it should work. I have not changed anything.
However installation of it is known to be a problem for a very small minority of users. You may be unlucky to fall in this category.
1. Which version of Movie Maker are you using?
2. Are you installing it with admin account?
3. Does any other custom effect work

This problem is a general issue with Movie Maker which happens due to many factors including complexity of the project (no of clips+effects+transitions etc), presence of incompatible codecs and format of source and destnation files.

In your case the presence of my transitions might be tipping the complexity level of your project off the threshold value. The known resolution thats works most of the times is to break your project into smaller subporjects and publish them ...

What avi flavour was the video? You can find out the avi's codec information using GSpot.

Convert the video into a more favorable format (DV AVI, WMV or Uncompressed-AVI) and edit that. Super is a good converter as well as VirtualDub. Use google to search.

Hi MMK, your GPU Intel 945 which is a mere motherboard grahics system is really very poor for the demands made by the lengthy pixel shaders we are now writing. I am not surprised that it is causing trouble.

For your assurance I test all my effects on a very basic nVidia 5200 which is the most basic GPU supporting pixel shader 2. It doesn't perform very well but just manages to function on some of the long shaders. That is my criteria for releasing shaders.... but I wont include ...

Yes PayPal allows all kinds of payments. When a payment is complete (however it may have been made), paypal sends a notification to my website which automatically generates a registration code and sends to your email address. Make sure it does not end up in your Spam/Bulk/Junk folder.

Are you the person who sent me an email? I think I am getting to the bottom of this issue. Basically Vista does not grant full elevated privileges for the default account especially when it has no password.

Try enabling the main Administrator account and install from that account. Once installed it should work from all accounts.

1. Make sure you have a password for each of the current accounts.
2. Right click on the "Computer" icon in the ...

moviemakerkid, you just nullified what i said!!!

I am saying that "the only user" in vista does not have the "full administrator" privileges. Hence the reason for enabling the actual Administrator account and installing from there.

Patrick, I have exposed a variable called Duration. This is constant float and specifies the duration of the clip for effects and duration of the overlap for transitions. Now recall that Time is the relative time for the clip/transition; from 0.0 to 1.0. Therefore you can calculate get a "real time" by multiplying the two.

To obtain a registration code you click on the PayPal button, it offers you to pay without a paypal account. It also accepts all currencies and credit cards.

The limitation of the free usage is that the texture images (such as the one used in beer bottle transition) do not work. After the trial expires the frequency of the reminder dialog increases (3 hours). But if you can put up with this you can freely use non-texture transitions and effects wihtout registration as long as ...
