1.Re: New Transitions pack: ShaderTFX with PIP + Chroma + Gradient Wipes

Tried Rehan's new installer. No joy yet for me. Got the DLL not registered message as I did on the previous two versions. regsvr32 also fails to register the DLL. Have not tried MMK's solution yet.

Vista Home Premium. One user as administrator. HP AMD dual processor. 2 GB mem. nVidia dedicated graphics. MM 2.6 installed (if that makes any difference).

Good luck. I'm looking forward to these capabilities on Vista. I second MMK's vote for colored ...

Congrats Rehan.

Sistersalways, Green Chroma means that during the transition the green portion is transparent and you can see the other pic. Here is an example.

--Download the pic below
--Place it on the timeline, followed by another pic or video.
--Overlap the two to get a fade transition
--Replace the fade transition with a Green Chroma A 0.x transition
--The B pic (the 2nd) should show through the A pic (the first) during the transition where the A pic is ...

I noticed that Rehan implemented the Point function.

Try this you Rehan Transitions Pack Beta testers. Add to rehanfx_pip.xml. Lotsa fun in this Addon pack.

<Transition name="RehanFX PIP: A B middle zoom inout DPL" iconid="16" guid="RehanFX PIP A B middle zoom inout dpl" ShaderModel="2">

Wish list for Rehan.

I have continued to use 2.6 mostly, because of the PIP+ functions. I hope more of those will be included in this 6.0 effort because I like a lot of MM 6.0. Especially the mixing of aspect ratios. I also want Blaine's comp A plus B. These will make me a mostly 6.0 user.

Wonderbar Rehan. Followed instructions above and it installed perfectly.

Self effects and self transitions worked great with colored borders. Good idea. Also, the border parameters worked on gradient transitions. e.g.

For you beta testers, try adding this to rehanfx_pip.xml

I'v always liked the Heartbeat effect from Rehan's PIP+. This transition kinda does that. Add 2 of the same photo to the timeline, overlap them and use this transition. Gives 5 "Heartbeats" during the transition. Use about 4-6 sec of overlap.

<Transition name="RehanFX PIP: DPL Heartbeat" iconid="16" guid="RehanFX PIP dpl Heartbeat" ...

Rehan, as you are considering your final package, please consider this:

I put frames around almost everything with PIP+. It especially looks nice with PhotoStory (Ken Burns Effect) slideshows.

In MM2.1 and MM2.6 I use these next 2 effects. (Blaine's PhotoAlbum.png as an example) This way I can get the frame constant with any effects before it. e.g. pan/zoom etc. Also, I can concurrently use frames and Titling with just one rendering pass, which saves me ...

I've been playing with Rehan's Overlay effect. I noticed that the overlay image snuggles up to the source image no matter it's aspect ratio. Portrait, landscape, or odd aspect ratio in either 4:3 or 16:9 project aspect ratio. (Neato!!!) Perfect for Blaine's PhotoAlbum image as the Corner Mounters are always exactly on the corners of the source image for all sizes and shapes of image.

For more conventional frame overlays though, it would be nice if the overlay snuggled up ...

Still enjoying playing with frames and logos with Rehan's overlay code. I put together a package with 40+ frames, the shrink effects, a moving logo example and heartbeat using rehan's rehanfx_overlay.fx from above.

See a few in Frame Effects Sample Many of the frames are reworked from Danielle's frames and also included is the PhotoAlbum frame by Blaine. These are all effects, so they can ...

The TX5 installer worked correctly for me. All your transitions and effects behave as before.

I did uninstall the previous version through the control panel, and installed without running as administrator as I am the only user on my PC (with administrative privileges).

Good work. This is really useful to me.

I tried out the rehanfx_overlay.fx overlay code. Full size frames and heartbeat in DPL Frames Effects above worked out fine.

However, the moving logo effect had the strange attribute of 6 extra copies of the logo above the specified logo.

Rehan, while hacking around in your rehanfx_overlay.fx code, I accidently discovered that the FX5 phantom logo images in the Moving Logo as noted above go away if the line

TexCoord.y >= rectB.y &&
is changed to
TexCoord.y >= (rectB.y + 0.0001) &&

I have no idea why (vertical tiling?). This is emperical, and the addend must be non-zero to work correctly, zero doesn't do it.

The new package ...

Installed OK on my system. Uninstalled old version and ran installer as administrator.

PIP, Self Gradients, Electric Effects - OK
Chroma, Split, Wipe, Overlays - NO JOY

Basically anything with a TextureFile fails, plus Chroma fails for me. Just a very short fade, or just switches.

Happy bug hunting. WinkLooking forward to this working.

Rehan, have you exposed any Clock/Counter type real time variables in ShaderTFX?
e.g.
float4 p0 : register(c0);
#define counter (p0[2])
#define clock (p0[3])
else
float fClock : Clock;
float fCounter : Counter;

I haven't discovered a way to do real time yet.

MM 6.0 seems to handle animated GIF's OK. Just extending the number of cycles if the GIF is stretched out in time.

In the timeline view, you can expand the Video line by clicking on the + sign, then the audio for the video shows up and with a right click on it, you can mute the audio of one of the clips.

In this forum, the color tag works nicely in Internet Explorer, but is ignored in Google Chrome and Firefox.
